VETERAN ASIA PRIVATE EQUITY EXPERT CHUL-JOON PARK JOINS BAIN & COMPANY'S NEW YORK OFFICE

New York, NY, May 25, 2010 - Bain & Company, the global business consulting firm, announced the appointment of Chul-Joon Park to the firm's New York office. For the past six years, Mr. Park led Bain's Asia-Pacific Private Equity Practice and was based in Seoul. In New York, Mr. Park will focus on helping Bain's private equity clients identify investment opportunities, perform strategic due diligence and develop blueprints of action for increasing the value of acquired portfolio companies. As the global financial crisis abates, Mr. Park will be working closely with North American industry and capability practice area heads, to share his experiences with Asia's robust private equity market in a recovering deal environment.

Mr. Park brings more than 19 years of private equity, corporate merger and acquisition strategy and due diligence experience in Asia. As a founding member of the Seoul office, which opened in 1991 his work has spanned the full spectrum of private equity consulting, from deal sourcing and generation, to commercial due diligence, to post-acquisition strategies and operational and organizational restructuring. Additionally, his experience at Bain includes leading major strategic, operational and organizational initiatives at some of the largest corporations and conglomerates in Asia, in the financial services, telecommunications, aerospace, construction, engineering, automotive and industrial sectors.
Prior to Bain, Mr. Park was a marketing manager at General Electric's engineering plastics business working with Ford, General Motors and Chrysler in Detroit, Michigan. He earned an M.B.A. from Cornell University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Seoul National University.
